Hello! I’m Dashanna Hanlon and I’m excited that you’re interested in learning more about me and Caring for Mamas!

Why I started Caring for Mamas:

I became certified as a birth and postpartum doula because I wanted to help people feel empowered from their first moments of pregnancy. My work as a postpartum transition specialist is to give gentle guidance for families in their personal or professional paths past the first twelve weeks.
After seeing all that families have endured during the pandemic, I started offering childbirth education classes. My goal is to help families feel prepared for birth earlier in their journey, I believe this allows you to make the best decisions for your family. If I can help your family get educated about childbirth, you can sign up for a class!

Caring for Mamas is my way of supporting parents in every phase.

I moved to Boston in 2011, after getting a Bachelor’s degree in English and Gender Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. I married my favorite Massachusetts native, Tom in 2018. Our sons Lucas, Isaiah, Zachary, and Nathaniel (yes, I have 4 boys!) light up our world! Our home is loud but full of love. I love jazz music and I used to sing professionally.
