Caring In Color is a Full Spectrum Doula Service and Childbirth Education platform providing affirming, evidence-based and trauma-informed support to people during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. All orientations, ages, sizes, races, abilities and genders are welcome here. Akua Carson is a Certified Perinatal Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, and Childbirth Educator based in Providence, Rhode Island. As your doula, she will compliment the care you are receiving from your medical provider by providing emotional, informational and physical support throughout pregnancy, labor and birth. She will also help your family prepare for the postpartum journey of personal recovery and caring for a new baby. Her role as your doula is to bring compassion and information to the areas of your perinatal experience which are most important to you. She is also there to remind you of the personal agency you possess in creating a safe and positive birthing experience for you and your family. Through discussion, knowledge-sharing and evidence-based education, she develops practical and conceptual tools to help you approach the journey to parenthood feeling prepared and confident.
