Meet Chelsea, a mom of 2 and a full spectrum doula who feels her purpose is to make your birth dreams come true! For as long as she can remember she wanted to be in the world of birthwork. Her favorite show as a child was “A baby story”, a show that followed pregnant people through their journey and birth experience, and by the time she was a teenager she knew she wanted to become a midwife. After getting accepted to college she was enrolled in the midwifery program for over a year and on the way to making her dreams come true. Then, when she was 19, she unexpectedly got pregnant and everything came to a temporary halt while she spent time focusing on raising her son as a single mother and working. The birth of her son was an incredibly traumatic experience unfortunately, but inspired within her a new spark and an even bigger drive to make a difference, so she could try to prevent negative outcomes for other birthing people. Fast forward around 9 years and the idea of becoming a doula came to her. She decided to take the leap, applied for a scholarship with Birthing Advocacy doula trainings, and was awarded a full scholarship for her essay on why she felt called to become a doula! The training affirmed everything she felt about her passion for this work… she finally felt aligned with her purpose and couldn’t wait to get started!Recently, with her 2nd pregnancy and the birth of her daughter just this past September, Chelsea said “Now that I am a doula myself, I was able to see the beauty of knowledge, power and healing come full circle. I gave birth on my own terms, my body and my wishes were respected and held with care, and my soul was healed as my daughter was born and I was reborn.” Experiencing pregnancy and birth through new perspective this time was cathartic, eye-opening and life changing for her.Her combined holistic and practical approach to birth comes from both her training as a doula and her time training in midwifery, and ensures that her clients have the best experience possible tailored specifically to their needs and wants. She takes pride in spending quality time with each client in prenatal visits, to hold space for their wishes, and to go over every detail of their vision, crafting a thorough birth plan together. Her ultimate goal is to make sure you feel empowered, advocated for, supported, safe and nurtured. She will dedicate herself to you, and be the shoulder to lean on, the listening ear and the hand to hold, throughout your entire journey together.
