Heidi Fillmore, CPM, NHCM, has been a practicing midwife in Maine and New Hampshire since 1987. During that time, she has attended the births of over 1,000 babies in western Maine and the Mt. Washington valley of New Hampshire.

Before opening her practice, Heidi studied Architecture at Southern Illinois University and then midwifery at the Midwifery Training Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Heidi is a certified professional midwife (CPM) with a license to practice in New Hampshire and Maine and is a member of the National Association for CPMs, the NH Midwives Association, and the Maine Association of CPMs.

Heidi lives with her husband in Naples, Maine, and has two grown daughters, Hannah and Stella, who were born at home in 1990 and 1993.

Heidi is the founder of Birthwise Midwifery School, and was the Executive Director for 25 years. She stepped down from that position in 2019 to focus on her midwifery practice full time.

Heidi spends a lot of time in her vegetable, flower and herb gardens and loves to share the fruits of her labor. Home grown and made herbal medicines and products are offered to and shared with clients of The Birth House depending on their personal interest or need.
