Jennie or JJ is Arcana’s majority owner and director. She also proudly identifies as a person in long term Recovery from addiction and PTSD. When she’s not running our shop or yoga school, she’s hanging with her two beautiful children, working on her tiny house or chipping away at her master’s degree in social work through the University of Southern Maine. Jennie also serves as a yoga instructor and board member for Sea Change Yoga, and an adjunct professor of yoga at USM. Her training includes her 500 hour yoga teaching certification through Kripalu, time on the Sivananda ashrams, and an additional 300+ hours of yoga and meditation training and over 4,000 hours of teaching experience. She holds a BA in Psychology and Healing Arts from USM. She’s also completed a 4 year herbal apprenticeship through Wild Carrot Herbs and her Reiki 1 and 2 certifications. She also attributes much of her knowledge in plants and healing work to a group of Indigenous elders that she has had to honor of learning from for nearly 10 years. As a practitioner at Arcana she offers herbal consults, micro-dosing consults and private mentorship for yoga instructors.
