I have shifted the focus of my midwifery practice and I am no longer offering labor and birth care as a midwife or doula. I am continuing to offer midwifery care in all other areas. I provide preconception and fertility care, home insemination (IUI), known sperm donor consults, and fertility counseling support. I also provide in-home wellness and gynecology visits such as Pap smears, STI testing, chest/breast exams, fertility awareness method education, and pregnancy options counseling. For families planning a hospital birth I can offer prenatal and/or postpartum home midwifery care, or individual prenatal and postpartum visits for a specific focused need or topic.
I first became excited about midwifery care as a birth center volunteer, immediately feeling at home in the busy but calm and family-centered environment. Over the next 10+ years I was deeply involved in other types of health and wellness care, until I felt ready to dive back into birth work and midwifery with that range of other experiences under my belt.
I studied at the National Midwifery Institute in Vermont and trained as a midwifery apprentice in the Oakland Bay Area in California, working with a wide variety of midwives in both birth center and homebirth settings. I am nationally licensed as a Certified Professional Midwife, as well as licensed by the State of Vermont and the State of New Hampshire.
I bring nearly twenty years of healthcare experience along with my midwifery training, and my previous work has been in primary care, urgent care, mental health support, reproductive and sexual health care, and healthcare access advocacy.
In addition to being a midwife, Iām also a dancer, nature nerd, avid reader and game player, and love hanging out with babies and kids of all ages. Iām always happy taking kids outdoors and getting them excited about plants, birds, animals, hiking, and bikes! I love spending time with my kiddo, my family, and my extended friend family, and nurturing this community is an important part of my life.
