Hi there, I’m Shay. Ladybug has been my nickname since the very beginning. It’s what happens when you’re a kid and you love sitting under the tree in your yard that is loaded with ladybugs. Here’s a picture of my crew. These little ladies have two very different birth stories. They each taught me much about fear, confusion, confidence and control. They made me a doula. My role is to deeply respect your labor. I will not be delivering your baby. I am non-medical and have no clinical tasks to complete. I take great pride and joy in continually learning about pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. We will work together to figure out what support you believe will help you feel secure and capable throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. Do certain sounds soothe you? Is there a scent that gives you a headache? Do you have a boundary that needs protecting? Do you love/hate positive affirmations? I want protect your headspace so you can labor as authentically as possible. Authenticity is defined by you. Hi all I’m Shay. If you ask me my favorite topic I will say “Birth!” and if you ask me about profound moments in my life I will say “Having my babies.” I have two very different birth stories and they each taught me much about fear, confusion, confidence and control. They made me a doula. I have a particular belief in deeply supporting the sensory needs of the laboring person to help them get into a safe head space and stay there. Let those good hormones flow! Labor and delivery will almost always, no doubt, be transformative and leave you with a story. Cheesy as it sounds—let’s do our best to have one you’re happy with. Ladybug currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI and Neighborhood Health Plan of RI. Rhode Island insurance companies are required by law to provide a $1500 doula benefit.
