Sierra comes to midwifery from the dual influences of academia, where she specialized in queer family-building while completing a PhD in sociology, and farm life, where she was raised to value the wonder, autonomy, and inherent connectedness of the cycles of life.

For years prior to joining Soft Corner, Sierra was a full-spectrum doula and childbirth educator in the Boston area, where she honed her calm and grounding presence, dedication to advocacy, and belief in the fundamental right to dignity in reproductive care.
